With the huge boom in hot tub ownership in Britain the founders of the British hot tub industry, Aegean Spas and Hot Tubs, realised that while they stocked all the spares and parts to support the leading brands they sold, very few of the new entrants to the market had given any consideration to spares, parts and general after care. Most of these new spas companies just wanted to take advantage of the boom, cash up and disappear leaving their new spas owners in the lurch.
Aegean’s attention to spares involved a massive investment with stock and people, training many of the leading lights of the supply companies that have sprung up over the last few years as the market grew. To start with the spares market attracted set ups who saw high margins against low stock levels as they included air freight in their prices, the only investment being in good websites easily developed off the back of existing and American models. This has all changed with companies like Spa Save bringing levels of stocking and sensible competitive pricing not yet seen in the Uk and eliminating the rip off element of some of the pricing out there.
Aegean’s spares and parts operation lost many of its employees to this growing part of the industry and we are proud to having had contributed to its growth and the provision of spa spares where they did not exist in the past due to companies going bust or never bothering to support their products.
